Welcome to my online gallery. My abstract mixed media paintings are inspired by the classical music that I've always loved and listen to while I work. Those timeless compositions influence the cadence, mood and feel of my artwork. A second source of inspiration, which has greatly contributed to my style, is the clean geometry, symmetry and simple line elegance of Art Deco. I admire those shapes and details, especially in Art Deco architecture. I feel very fortunate to have lived for a few years in the early 1990's in Miami's South Beach Deco District, surrounded by those amazing buildings. And then, of course, I have the sea - my third source of inspiration. Since my home/studio in South Florida is in a marina community by the Atlantic Ocean, I can see waves of blue, aqua, teal, every shade of turquoise and green hues from all my windows.​ The mixed media in my paintings combines acrylic paints, inks, colored pencils, pastel crayons and collaged bits of the actual sheet music of my classical inspiration. I also incorporate pieces of patterned fabrics, silk cords, Japanese rice paper and gold leaf. But it is my collaged sheet music that infuses each of my paintings with its true genesis. I love it when someone approaches one of my paintings at an exhibit and suddenly notices the music. They usually smile, because music is such a universal language. My goal is to always promote that joy.
